Mrs. A. Aplin, Monroe, Dies

Monroe, IA – Mrs. Aldia Aplin, widow of the late Dr. J. C. Aplin, died early this morning at her home here following a prolonged illness. She had been bedfast for the past two weeks.
Mrs. Aplin was a prominent member and a past matron of the Monroe O.E.S. and was known for her work with the local Methodist Church.
Funeral Rites
Funeral services will be held at the Crumpacker Funeral home Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Interment will be at the Monroe cemetery.
Born at Dunreath, Ia., Aldia Reed, daughter of S. C. and Sophronia Reed, spent her life as a resident of Marion and Jasper county. She was married on May 8, 1884, and to this union was born a daughter who died in infancy. Her husband, a Monroe physician, died 12 years ago.
Relatives
Mrs. Aplin and her sister, Mrs. Emma Dearth, who owns a house next door to the Aplin residence, made their home together. At the time of her death Mrs. Aplin was living in the residence owned by her sister.
Surviving relatives are Mrs. Dearth and several nieces and nephews, including Mrs. W. H. Meek of Newton, R. H. Thompson of Newton, Mrs. O. Myres of Bussey, and Mrs. Peter Danks of near Monroe and Mrs. Jens Sorenson of near Monroe.
