Services Held
Fred Gene Aalbers, 57, of Monroe, died Saturday, Oct. 22, 1988 at his home.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Presbyterian Church in Monroe.
The Rev. Roger Graf and the Rev. John Adams conducted services. Burial was in the Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
Survivors are his wife, Ruby Josephine; two step–sons, Steven Reeves of Monroe and Daniel Reeves of Rock Valley; his mother, Bessie Aalbers of Monroe; and four grandchildren.
Also surviving are five sisters, Shirley (Mrs. Ralph) McGregor of Reasnor, Mary (Mrs. Ron) Scherer of Des Moines, Betty (Mrs. Richard) Iles of Pella, Charlotte Neeley of Pella and Sally (Mrs. Bill) Wallace of Monroe; five brothers, Richard and Bruce, both of Monroe; Larry of Olympia, Wash.; Russell of Romulus, Mich.; and Jerry of Pella; and 27 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and a nephew.
The son of Tone and Bessie Robison Aalbers he was born Jan. 11, 1931 in Otley.
He was married to Ruby Josephine Murdaugh Aug. 1, 1964.
