Merle Ross Brown
February 05, 1922 - April 29, 2008

Merle Ross Brown, the son of Ross and Artie (Wright) was born February 5, 1922 in West Bend, Iowa. He was raised and received his education in West Bend graduating from the West Bend High School in 1939.

On May 14, 1955 Merle was united in marriage with Verla Reese in Kanawha, Iowa. He was a lifelong farmer and resident of West Bend, IA and was a member of the United Methodist Church in West Bend. Merle died April 29, 2008 at the West Bend Care Center where he had been a resident since 2005.

Survivors inlcude his wife Verla of West Bend, IA, son Duane of West Bend, IA, daughters Linda (Greg) Shannon of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Shirley (Bruce) Morton of Newton, IA, and grandchildren Ryan Shannon and Brittany Morton.

Merle was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Donald and Gerald and Grandson Bradley Morton. ~ The Des Moines Register, Des Moines, Iowa 1 Feb 2016.
