Kenneth A. Doland, 58, of Newton died of cancer Wednesday at home. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton. Burial will be at Newton Union Cemetery.
Mr. Doland was born in Iowa City and had lived in Ekron, Ky., before moving to Jasper County, where he had lived most of his life. He retired from the porcelain department with Maytag Corp. and was a Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of Rockhaven Baptist church in Brandenburg, Ky. United Auto Workers Retirees union, Newton Moose Lodge and Newton Izaak Walton League.
He is survived by his wife, Anna; a son, Stacy Waglon of Las Vegas; a daughter, Terri Stafford of Fort Dodge; a stepson, James Sutton of Des Moines; two stepdaughters, Jackie Livengood of Newton and Pamela Rockard of Alabama; five sisters, Mary Long and Dorothy Grush, both of Newton, Alberta Long of Baxter and Esther Armentrout and Gayle Morrison, both of Des Moines; and nine grandchildren.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa.
