Carolyn A. Mahl, 77, of Newton died on Friday, January 1, 2016 at Skiff Medical Center. A service will be held at a later date with burial at Union Chapel Cemetery in rural Ira. Memorials in Carolyn’s name may be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory.

Carolyn, the daughter of John and Genevieve (Maus) Beaumier, was born on January 20, 1938 in Oconto, Wisconsin. She graduated from High School in Green Bay, Wisconsin. In 1978, Carolyn was united in marriage with Gary Mahl in Newton. She was a CNA and longtime Home Healthcare Aide for Skiff Medical Center. Carolyn enjoyed being outdoors; camping and fishing. She always put everyone in her life first, before herself.

Those left to honor Carolyn’s memory are her husband, Gary Mahl of Newton; children, Allen (Lois) Mahl of Urbandale, Linda (John) Braaksma of Wellington, Kansas, and Gwen Rotschafer (Tori) of Atlanta, Georgia; her eight grandchildren, Tiffanie, Echo, Heather, Jonathon, Ben, Laura, Alyssa, and Jonathon; and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two children, Gail Baker and Brian Stout. ~ The Wallace Family Funeral Home, Newton, Iowa 1 Jan 2016.
