Louisa Chantal O’Harra, 27, of Des Moines, formerly of Newton died on Thursday, November 26, 2015, at her home after a long battle with Sanfilippo Type A. A celebration of life for Louisa will be held from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Saturday, December 5, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Louisa’s name may be left at the funeral home.

Louisa, the daughter of Thomas R. and Elke (Siebert) O’Harra, was born on September 3, 1988 in Mainz, Germany. As a young girl, Louisa moved to Newton and went to Kindergarten at Aurora Heights Elementary. In first grade, her journey brought her back to Germany and she attended the Department of Defense School in Wiesbaden, Germany. After returning to Newton, she continued her schooling and graduated from Newton High School in 2010.

Louisa had many enjoyments in her life including puzzles, crafts, The Judd’s, and sledding. She also liked to watch Walt Disney movies, Mary Kate and Ashley movies, the Cosby Show, and the Golden Girls.

Those left to honor Louisa’s memory are her parents, Thomas R. and Elke O’Harra; grandmother, Hildegard Siebert; aunt and uncle, Cindy and Ted Owen; and her wonderful friends, neighbors, caregivers “The Girls”, and teachers. She was preceded in death by her grandpa, Bernel Siebert; brother, Radwan Chabti in 1983; great-grandma, Hildegard Ritter; and grandpa, Thomas G.
