Newton Woman's Father Dies

Funeral services for F. O. Brown, 80, of Corydon, father of Mrs. Rex (Betty) Miskimins of Newton, were held Tuesday at the Wolf Funeral Home in Corydon.

The Rev. Gale Hawhee, pastor of the United Methodist Church in Corydon, conducted services. Burial was in the Corydon Cemetery.

He died Saturday at the Wayne County Hospital in Corydon. ~ Newspaper unknown, but possibly the Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Wed 1 Mar 1978.

Grandpa married Grandma on Oct. 20, 1926. They were married 51+ years when he died on Feb. 25, 1978.

They had three children:
Bette Lou Miskimins (husband: Rex) of Kellogg, IA

James Robert Brown (wife: Roberta Marie Butler of Unionville, MO)

Mary Margaret Mitchell (husband: Jim Mitchell) of Allerton, IA

Bette died two or three years ago. Her husband, Rex, is still living (at their home at Rock Creek Lake). When he dies, both their ashes will be put in the lake.

James and wife Roberta live in Kimberling City, MO. They too will be cremated and not buried
