Dana Brodersen Rites Thursday At High School

MONROE - Funeral services for Dana Dee Brodersen, 15, of Monroe, who was killed Monday in an automobile accident, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Monroe Community High School.

The Rev. Douglas Maben, pastor of the Monroe Presbyterian Church will conduct services. Burial will be in the Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.

Memorial contributions to a memorial set up in Miss Brodersen's name will be accepted.

Survivors are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Brodersen of Monroe, two brothers, Brett and Doug Brodersen; a sister, Lisa Brodersen; her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. D. K. Jones of Newton; her maternal great-grandmother, Dora Kennedy of Newton; and her paternal grandmother, Mrs. Homer (Dessie) Carnahan of Monroe.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather.

Miss Brodersen attended the Monroe Presbyterian Church.

The daughter of Dean and Judy Jones Brodersen, she was born July 6, 1962 in Des Moines.

Miss Brodersen, a sophomore at Monroe Community High School, was active in track and golf, was on the newspaper staff and was a wrestling manager. ~ Newspaper unknown, possibly The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Wed 1 Mar 1978.
