Bill J. Clark, age 86, of Albia, passed away November 5, 2015, at the Oakwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Albia.

Bill was born November 21, 1928, in Monroe County to Merle and Mildred (McGilvrey) Clark. He graduated from the Albia High School with the Class of 1947.

Bill went to work for a construction company in Alaska. He entered the United States Army and worked as a heavy equipment operator building roads and served his country during the Korean War. After the war, William took a job at Red Jacket working as a Warehouse Manager in Illinois, New Jersey, Texas and Florida.

Bill was a former member of the E.U.B. Church in Albia. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan and especially enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a SPECIAL UNCLE to his nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his 2 sisters, Lois (Richard) Maddy and Donna (Jim) Starcevic both of Albia; 2 brothers, Paul (Betty) Clark of Lansing, Michigan and Max Clark of Newton; His nieces and nephews, Michael Maddy, Max (Dianne) Maddy, Mark (Jodi) Maddy, Cindy (Chuck) Derby, Caren (Mike) Graham, Jean Ann Starcevic, Kimberlee (Steve) Manor, Susan (Lee) Schulz, Craig (Alison) Clark, Kevin Clark, Valerie (Todd) Brown, and many other great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Merle and Mildred; a brother, Bob Clark; and a sister in law Dortha Clark.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 7, 2015 at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia, with Pastor Neil Montz officiating. Burial will follow at Union Chapel Cemetery in Rural Monroe County.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 7, at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia.
