Mildred J. Kimberley, 95 of Baxter passed away at her home on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 12, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Bethany United Church of Christ, 5627 N 95th Ave W, in Baxter. Funeral services will be at Bethany United Church of Christ on Friday, November 13, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. with Teressa Clark officiating. A private family burial will take place at a later date in Peoria Cemetery in Rural Maxwell, Iowa.

Mildred was born on May 20, 1920, in Jasper County, the daughter of George and Gladys Cordray Lewis. She was raised in Jasper County and was a 1936 graduate Of Colfax Public School. While in high school she took normal training taught by Ella Hartnett. After passing the state exam she taught in rural school system.

On June 26, 1941, Mildred was married to George A. Kimberley in Des Moines. They spent their lives farming the Kimberley Century Farm located in rural Collins, Jasper County. They loved to travel and spent twenty-one winters in Arizona.

Mildred was a member of the Collins Methodist Church where she was very active. She was president of the local Methodist Women's Society, a district officer of Methodist Women's Society, Sunday and Bible School teacher, leader of youth groups, and served on their church board. As a Peoria Cemetery committee member, she served on the board 65 years and a consultant in her later years. She was a member of the Collins Legion Auxiliary. Mildred loved gardening, landscaping, and reading. Some of her happiest times were with family enjoying her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to travel and see new places. Her most memorable trip was to Israel where she re-affirmed her faith by being baptized at the edge of the River Jordan just as Jesus was long ago.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Beverley (Dick) Postels of Grinnell, Karmen (Pat) Milligan of Baxter; four grandchildren, Kimberley (Lincoln) Sharar of Iowa Falls, Dr. Eric (Angie) Forsberg of Altoona, Kelly (Jamie) Milligan of Baxter, Erin (Sai Kiojai) Forsberg of Gilbert; six great-grandchildren, Karson and Ella Sharar, Liam and Henry Milligan, Tytus Forsberg and Jaylyn Light; four sisters, Helen Holdifer, Trula Fleener, Bertine Slegh, Linda (Bob) Wilson; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband George, daughter, Patricia Kay, four sisters; Virginia Hornback, Betty Jean Milligan, Georgina Bryant and Evelyn Kimberley; two brothers, James Lewis and Russell Lewis.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Peoria Cemetery Association in Mildred's memory.
