Herman De Heer Dies Monday; Service Friday

MONROE - Herman De Heer, 67, of Monroe, a longtime Monroe area farmer, died Tuesday at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center inf Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Williams Funeral Home in Knoxville.

Elder Arthur Nichols will conduct services. Burial will be in the Ruckman Cemetery, north of Knoxville.

Survivors are his wife, the former Opal Caulkins; three sons, Richard of Monroe and Gene and Donald,
both of Pella; a daughter, Mrs. Andrew (Beulah Mae) Van Berkum of Pella; four grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Rosie Dailey of Monroe; two half-sisters, Mrs. Annie Redmon of La Plata, Mo., and Mrs.Jeanette Lewis of Kansas City, Mo.; and a half-brother, Edward De Heer of Knoxville.

Mr. De Heer was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows in Monroe.

The son of Allewyn and Ida May Roff Des Heer, he was born June 17, 1910. ~ Newspaper unknown, possibly the Newton Daily News, Newton Iowa Thurs 16 Feb 1978.
