Dwight S. Churchill, 81, passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at Kavanagh House on 56th Street in Des Moines. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at McLaren's Chapel in West Des Moines. Funeral services will be held 9:30 a.m. Saturday at New Hope Assembly of God Church in Urbandale with burial at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.

Dwight enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War. He graduated from ISU in 1958 with a degree in Agricultural Education and was the Regional Vice President of Equitable Agribusiness. Dwight was a member of Kiwanis in Urbandale, Iowa Lions Club, and the Men's Group at Aldersgate. Dwight was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and also attended New Hope Assembly of God. He loved and was devoted to his family.

He is survived by his son, Kevin (Liz) Churchill of Runnells; daughter, Jill (Nathan) Johnson of West Des Moines; nine grandchildren, Andy, Beau, Cody, James, Kya, Gabriel, Michael, Josiah and Mariah; seven great grandchildren; three brothers, Doyle (Louise) Churchill of Newton, Harold (Gwen) Churchill of Grinnell and Hubert (Wilma) Churchill of Newton.

Dwight was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara K. Churchill and sister, Evelyn Brashear.
