October 27, 1941 - September 23, 2015

Ardith Arlene Weldon Smith, age 73 of Colfax, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at her home in Colfax. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2015, at 3:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Colfax. Cremation will follow the service and burial will take place at Greencastle Cemetery at a later date. The family will greet friends on Sunday beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the church. They will also greet friends following the service at a luncheon at the church. The daughter of Thomas A. and Alta M. (Heaton) Weldon, Ardith was born October 27, 1941, in Hamilton, Iowa. She attended Bussey High School. On January 18, 1975, she was united in marriage to James E. Smith. Ardith enjoyed talking on a C B Radio, playing her keyboard, painting, drawing and camping.

Those left to honor her memory include her children, Gloria "Screech" (Allen) Nichol, Tim (Kim) Smith, Denise (Gary) Ahn, Rhonda (Butch) Annis, Tim (Donna McFarland) Smith, Jim "NUJI" (Terri) Smith, J.D. (Lori) Smith, and Kim Richardson; 20 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, two brothers, Lyle and Guy Weldon, an infant sister, Norma Jean and a granddaughter. ~ The Coburn Funeral Home, Colfaxc, Iowa 23 Sept 2015.
