Brewer, Beverly A. – 1937-2014

BREWER, FRANDSEN, KENT, LAUTARET

Beverly A. Brewer, the daughter of Clyde and Rosa Lee (Frandsen) Lautaret, was born August 17, 1937, in Los Angeles, California. In that year, Beverly appeared as a baby in a motion picture about Napoleon. At the age of 2, her family moved to Elwood, Kansas, where she attended school, graduating in 1954.
In 1955, Beverly was united in marriage to Herb Kent. They became the parents of one son, Scott. They later divorced. For many years, Beverly was employed as a loan officer in the savings and loan industry in the St. Joseph, Missouri, area.
In 1974, Beverly was united in marriage to Donald Brewer in Monett, Missouri. Don’s employment required the family to move several times. They made their home in numerous Kansas and Missouri towns including; Rock Port, Missouri, Kansas City, Missouri, Wathena, Kansas, and Monett, Missouri. While living in Rock Port, they owned and operated a grain elevator in Nishnabotna, Missouri, and started an agricultural trucking business. Following retirement, they moved to Branson, Missouri, where Beverly and Don were both employed at The Grand Palace hotel. In 2012, they returned to St. Joseph to be near their son, Scott, and his family.
Beverly passed away Monday, December 22, 2014, at Carriage Square Healthcare Center, St. Joseph, at the age of 77.
Besides her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by two brothers, Ron and Gary Lautaret. Survivors include husband, Don, St. Joseph; son, Scott Kent and wife, Lisa, St. Joseph; grandson, Tyler Kent and wife, Kaydee, Nixa, Missouri; granddaughter, Jordan Kent, Kansas City, Missouri; one great-granddaughter, Rigby Kent; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service and interment was Tuesday, Dec. 30 in Waldensian Cemetery in Monett, Missouri. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Online obituaries and condolences at www.minterfuneralchapels.com. Services were provided by Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port.
