December 29, 1930 - September 2, 2015

Jayne Ann Clymer, age 84 of Newton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at Park Centre in Newton. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City, with burial following at Waveland Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Friday, September 4, 2015 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Jayne Ann Clymer Memorial Fund and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.

The daughter of Donald and Blanche (Parker) Thatcher, Jayne was born on December 29, 1930. She graduated from Newton High School in 1949. Jayne was a homemaker who had a love of family. She had a gift as a seamstress and made many clothes for her children and grandchildren. She loved knitting, painting china, and cooking as well. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

On June 30, 1951, she was united in marriage to Melburn L. "Melby" Clymer. They moved to California for two years and then on to Hawaii for two years, as Melby was stationed with the US Navy. While in Hawaii, she worked as a bank teller. Upon their return to Iowa to embark in farming, Jayne worked part time during the winter at the Maytag Dairy Farm. Jayne was featured in Wallace's Farming Magazine where she was recognized for her love of crafts and specifically lamp shades and candle sticks.

Those left to honor her memory include two sons, Mark (Deb) Clymer and John (Beth) Clymer; a sister, Pat Hybl, and a very special niece, Kim (Norb) Manwarren and her family. Also surviving are her eight grandchildren, Darin, Tennille, Justin (Beth), Tiffannie (Tim), Jake (Natalie), Brian, Jason (Laura) and Nick (Kelly); and 11 great grandchildren, Clay, Carter, Lydia, Rachel, Josiah, Justice, Mercy, Luke, Kinser, McKynna and Isaac.

Jayne was preceded in death by her parents, husband Melby on January 23, 2015, a brother, Bob Thatcher and a sister, Marilyn Wilson. ~ The Coburn Funeral Home, Colfax, Iowa 2 Sept 2015.
