Memorial Service the Moose Lodge in Newton

Scott Glenn DeKoning, 44, of Newton died on Sunday, August 23, 2015, at his home. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, August 27, at the Moose Lodge in Newton. The family will greet friends after the service. Memorials in Scott’s name may be left at the Moose Lodge or at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory.

Scott, the son of Darrell and Elizabeth (Keith) DeKoning, was born on February 28, 1971 in Newton. He graduated from Newton High School, received his welding certificate for DMACC, and had taken other business courses through DMACC. Scott enjoyed spending time on the computer, playing World of Warcraft and being with his family.

Those left to honor Scott’s memory are his wife, Kelly DeKoning and her sons, Chris and Morgan; his mom, Elizabeth McGee and his dad and best friend, Carl McGee, both of Kellogg; siblings, Mark (Chrissy) DeKoning of Unionville, Missouri and Julie (John) Cummins of Newton; his step-siblings, Ronnie McGee of Des Moines, Ray (Joleen) McGee of Newton, Rick (Sandy) McGee of Newton, and Rebecca (James) Harned of Newton; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Darrell DeKoning and grandmother, Evelyn DeKoning. ~ The Wallace Family Funeral Home, Newton, Iowa 23 aug 2015.
