Bernidine E.L. Ezra, 89, of Newton died on Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at Nelson Manor Nursing Home. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, August 10, at the Newton Baptist Temple with the family greeting friends from 12 p.m. until the time of service. Memorials in Bernidine’s name may be left at the church during the service or at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory.

Bernidine, the daughter of Henry and Pearl Marie (Wood) Sudbrock, was born on June 5, 1926 in Des Moines. She was united in marriage with Robert PerDue and they lived in California for many years. Following Robert’s death, Bernidine married Merle Ezra.

Bernidine moved back to Iowa 25 years ago. She was a member of the Neighbors of Wood Craft, Newton Baptist Temple, and the Union Park Church of Christ in Des Moines. Bernidine enjoyed doing crafts with buttons and making yarn dogs. She also collected dolls and elephants.

Bernidine is survived by his sons, John PerDue and Robert (Carol) PerDue, both of Des Moines; three grandchildren, Kiesha, Robert III, and Shawn; her eight great-grandchildren; siblings, Larry Sudbrock of Dexter and Audrey PerDue of California; and sisters-in-law, Dorothea Sudbrock, Mildred Sudbrock, and Betty Sudbrock.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Robert PerDue and Merle Ezra; son, Larry PerDue; brothers, A.B. Sudbrock, Gay (Betty) Sudbrock, Francis (Kietha) Sudbrock, Jack Sudbrock, and Leonard Sudbrock; sisters-in-law, Linda Sudbrock and Rose Sudbrock; and brother-in-law, Orlin PerDue. ~ The Wallace Family Funeral Home, Newton, Iowa 4 Aug 2015.
