LAMBS GROVE - Kathleen L. "Kathy" Christy, 59, of 118 Oakwood Drive, Lambs Grove, died Friday, Nov. 14, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton with Father Phil Cardenzana of the Conception Catholic Church in Colfax officiating. The body will be cremated following the services. Burial will be held at a later date at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Newton.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home where the family will be available from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials will be accepted in her name and may be left at the funeral home.

The daughter of T. Edward Mickle and Opal (Wilson) Halsey, she was born Dec. 24, 1943, in Newton. She graduated from Newton Senior High School in 1962 and attended DMACC. On Feb. 14, 1983, she married Jon S. Christy at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua. She was a realtor and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She enjoyed decorating, gardening and shopping. Mrs. Christy spent most of her life in Newton.

Survivors include her husband; two sons and daughters-in-law, William S. and Marcia Landwier of St. Louis, Mo., and Jon and Jill Christy of Newton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Corey and Douglas Schwebke of Newton and Karen and Gus Straight of Newton; seven grandchildren; and her mother.

She was preceded in death by her father; a son, Jeffrey O'Brien Landwier; two brothers, Thomas and John Mickle; and a sister, Luella Mickle. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Mon 17 Nov 2003.
