Richard L. Moredock, 54, of 311 E. 23rd St. S. died Saturday, Sept. 27, at Gunderson Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, Wis.

No services are scheduled. The body has been cremated.

The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be accepted to the Central Iowa Cyclists and may be left at the funeral home.

The son of Ruth Moredock, he was born Jan. 31, 1949, in Des Moines. He graduated from Newton Senior High School in 1967. On April 19, 1969, he married Cheryl A. Groves in Newton. He was a factory worker for the Maytag Company for 35 years and retired in 2002. He also worked for Yardscapes.

Mr. Moredock was a member of the Elks, UAW Local 997 Retiree and Central Iowa Cyclists.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Ryan Moredock of Newton; three grandchildren; and his mother of Newton.
