John Edward “Chip” Pratt, 85, of Colfax died of a heart ailment Wednesday at home. The body has been cremated and a memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Colfax Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Pratt was born in Seavers and had lived in the Colfax area all his life. He was a retired employee of Monroe Co. in Colfax. He was a member of the Colfax Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder and on the church’s board of trustees.

Surviving are his wife, Twila; a daughter, Donnarae McFadden of Sun City, Ariz.; a son, Allan of Urbandale; a sister, Mary Margaret Sage of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; and four grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Colfax Presbyterian Church, Colfax Senior Citizens Center or Colfax Ambulance Service.
