Mary (Maria Valdez) Walker, age 93 of Denver, CO, was born September 5, 1921 and passed away Friday, May 29, 2015 in Denver, Colorado. S

he was preceded in death by her husbands Erwin Walker, John Gogan and Carl Cron. Also preceding her in death was a son Paul Gogan.

She leaves behind 4 children Ronald (wife - Eileen) Cron of Newton, Iowa, Anthony (wife - Carla) Cron of Yakima, Washington, Lorna (husband - Michael) Nevans of Wheatridge, Colorado and Vickie (husband - Robert) Sorrentino of Westminster, Colorado.

Mary was born in Los Ojos/Parkview, New Mexico, and raised in Tierra Amarillo, New Mexico. Mary was a homemaker and worked as a Senate Paige, secretary, shipping clerk, and taught dance. Mary was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Daughter of Epimenio and Elisa (Rivera) Valdez. Mary is survived by two brothers, Eloy (wife - Barbara) Valdez of Chandler, Arizona and Eppie (wife - Eva) Valdez of Lakewood, Colorado and one sister, Agnes Sanson of Monroe, Louisiana. Also surviving Mary are eleven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, several nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers; Horace, Joe, Tony, Gilbert, Ikie, Bernie Valdez and one sister Josie Barowiec.

Mary will be remembered for her lifelong devotion to Christ & the Saints of the Catholic Church, her commitment to family, sense of warmth and hospitality, love of music and dancing, and sense of humor. She was admired for her ability to overcome some of life’s biggest challenges.

Viewing with Rosary to follow will be Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Archdiocese of Denver Mortuary at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 12801 W 44th Ave., Wheatridge, Colorado, from at 4:00 to 7:30 pm. Services will be held Thursday, June 4, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Spirit of Christ Catholic Community Chapel, 7400 West 80th Ave., Arvada, CO. Lunch will be served immediately following the service.
