Leonard E. Jabaai
February 27, 1923 - May 30, 2015

Leonard Jabaai, age 92, of Colfax passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, June 3, at First Reformed Church in Prairie City, with Pastor Mark Ellens officiating. Private burial will be held at later date at Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 from 5-7pm. Memorials may be directed to First Reformed Church and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com

Born February 27, 1923 in Otley, Iowa, Leonard was the son of Neal and Minnie (Den Hartog) Jabaai. On January 25, 1945, Leonard was united in marriage to Leona Van Zee in Otley, Iowa. Leonard was a farmer with his wife, Leona. He enjoyed working on the farm and going to farm sales and auctions. He was a member of the First Reformed Church in Prairie City.

He is survived by their three children, Arlene (Gary) Fields of Reeds Spring, MO, Linda (Ken) Van Roekel of Branson, MO, and Sharon (Allen) Gilbert of Prairie City. Five grandchildren, Amy Jo (Scott) Zach of Pleasant Hill, Kelly (Dave) Mehmen of Baxter, Craig (Brenda) Van Ryswyk of Baxter, Brenda (Marc) Smith of Newton and Amanda (Brian) Van Ekeren of Prairie City and 14 great grandchildren. Other survivors include his sister Esther (Bob) Aalbers of Altoona and many nieces, nephews and other extended family members and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Leona (Van Zee) Jabaai, parents, Neal and Minnie (Den Hartog) Jabaai, son in law, Harold Van Ryswyk, grandson, Shawn Van Roekel and siblings Matilda (Jabaai) Van Zee, Berdine (Jabaai) Breed and Marvin Jabaai. ~ The Coburn Funeral Home, Colfax, Iowa 30 May 2015.
