Wayne J. Tharp

Wayne J. Tharp of Waterloo died Sunday, December 29, at home of cancer.

He was born May 26, 1927 in Waterloo, the son of John Tharp and Catherine Ludovissy.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 2. At Blessed Sacrament with burial in Orchard Cemetery in Orchard Iowa. There was also a 7:00 p.m. vigil service on Wednesday.

He was married to Phyllis Morsc on March 27, 1954, in Galena, Illinois.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis; one son, John Tharp of Waverly; one daughter, Cindy Ackerman of Colfax; and three grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Hazel Walton of Coon Rapids, Minnesota and Katherine Mundt of Clutier, Iowa and two brothers, Harv of North Buena Vista and Robert of Waterloo.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Florence Nelson, Loretta Schuetz, and Bertha Davis and two brothers, Ralph and Edward. ~ The Colfax Tribune, Colfax, Iowa Thurs 9 Jan 1997.
