Died at his home near Colfax, Iowa, August 18, 1887(6), William D. Clement, aged 65 years 8 months 12 days.

He was born in Ohio December 6, 1821.

He parents were David and Catharine Clement.

In 1856 he came to Jasper county, Iowa, where he remained until his death. He leaves a wife and eight children besides five brothers and many friends to mourn their loss.

Since 1861 he had been in full membership with the M. E. Church. When he felt death near he told his friend that he was happy and was going home to rest. ~ The Colfax Tribune, Colfax, Iowa Aug 1886.
