H. N. Hurst Died Thursday

H. N. Hurst passed away Thursday, February 4th, at his home at Farrar, following an acute attack of diabetes. He has suffered with the disease the past six or seven years.

He was born and raised in the vicinity a few miles north of Colfax. His sister, Mrs. B. L. Logsdon, is now a resident of Colfax.

He was 74 years of age at the time of his passing. He is survived by his widow and one daughter, Mrs. Edna Meese of Valeria, and two sons, Virgil of Newton, and Carl of Maxwell.

Mr. and Mrs. B. L. Logsdon and daughter Miss Josephine, attended the funeral services, which were held Sunday at Farrar. ~ The Colfax Tribune, Colfax, Iowa Thurs 11 Feb 1932.

Hiram Nelson Hurst was the son of Burton and Nancy Vowell Hurst. He married Alfreda Edis Bell Poorbaugh 20 Jul 1879 in Greencastle, Jasper County, Iowa and they had a family of at least five children: Charles E., Carl Jay, Earl Guy, Edna May and Virgil B. Hurst.
