Albert Earl Tipton

Milan, Mo. - Albert Earl Tipton, 81, of Milan, Mo., formerly of Newton, died Friday, Feb. 18, at Sullivan County Memorial Hospital in Milan.

Funeral services were held today at the First baptist Church in Milan, Mo. Burial was at Oakwood Cemetery in Milan, Mo.

The Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Milan is handling arrangements. Memorials to Sullivan County Memorial Hospital will be accepted.

The son of Cecil C. and Ollie McAllister Tipton, he was born Sept. 23, 1918, in Sullivan County, near Milan, Mo.

A longtime resident of Milan, Mo., Mr. Tipton lived in Newton for more than 20 years where he was employed by the Maytag Company and later as a delivery driver for Montgomery Ward. Later he was self-employed in trucking to Milan where he operated the West Side Service Station for several years. Mr. Tipton was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II, a former member of the American Legion and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Milan, Mo.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Kathie of Milan, Mo.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Bertha Mae Deaton of Mingo, Debbie and Donnie Rubino of Milan, Mo. and Joyce and Linny Hoerrmann of Green Castle, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; a sister, Vivian McIntire of Newton; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a daughter in infancy. ~ Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa, Monday, Feb 21, 2000
