Newton Man Dies Late This Morning Following Long Illness

Will Kirkwood, 66, resident of Newton for many years, died late this morning at the John Kendall home, 711 South Third avenue West.
Mr. Kirkwood had been ill for some time with heart disease and had made his home at the Kendall residence for nearly two years. He had been unable to work for the last few years.
Mr. Kirkwood was preceded in death by his wife about six years ago.

Surviving relatives include his two sons, Lee J. Kirkwood of Havana, Cuba and Robert C. Kirkwood of Newton; his mother, Mrs. James Kirkwood of Eldora; three sisters, Mrs. Ella Hawley of Dore, N.D., Mrs. A. L. Hixon of Eldora, Ia., and Mrs. Frank Welton of Cumberland, Ia., and two brothers, Thomas Kirkwood of Newton and R. M. Kirkwood of Des Moines.
