MR. CASSTEVENS SERVICES HELD

Harold T. Casstevens, 73, of Sully died Wednesday morning, Jan. 6, at his home.

Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Reese Chapel in Newton, with Dr. Joseph Brinks of the Christian Reformed Church in Sully officiating. Burial was in Newton Union Cemetery.

He was born July 8, 1914, in Booneville, N.C., and attended school in Whitten. He came to Newton in the early 1950s, moving to Eldora in 1954, to Searsboro in 1974 and to Sully in 1981.

He was married to Willa Hargis in Missouri in 1935, and she preceded him in death. He was married to Evelyn Freese on Feb. 21, 1956 in Macon, Mo.

Surviving are his wife, Evelyn of Sully; two sons, Thomas and Harold II, both of Rochester, Mich.; three daughters, Lou Gartner of suburban Detroit, Mich., Barbara DeSart of Marshalltown and Peggy Casstevens of the family home; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Willa; one sister, Jennie Hamilton.

Mr. Casstevens was a member of the Christian Reformed Church in Sully. He had farmed for most of his life.
