Mary Patricia "Pat" Spann Harris died unexpectedly on February 19, 2015 in Monroe, Iowa at the age of 66.

Pat is survived by her children Aaron Harris of Salt Lake City, UT; Christopher Harris of Phoenix, AZ; Sabra Harris Johnson (Jerry) of Farmington, UT; Rebecca Harris Fowler (Matthew) of Monroe, IA and Jeremiah Harris (Lindsey) of Carnation, WA.

She is also survived by her beautiful grandchildren Schuyler O'Neil, Braeden Harris, Marley Harris Kaydee Fowler, and Samantha Harris. And by her siblings Mable Belt, Marie Tanner, Tom Spann, and Sandy Anderson.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Rufus and Bertha Spann of Mountain View, WY; her siblings, Lee Spann ad Connie Single, and by her son, Matthew David Harris.

Pat was born on October 31, 1948 in Rock Springs, WY. She graduated valedictorian from Lyman High School, as a summa cum laude from Weber State University, and earned double Master's degrees from Webster University. She married James Keith Harris, whom she met while in the Philippines, on June 27, 1969. Always an adventurous spirit, Pat lived in many places through her years including Japan; Thailand; the Philippine Islands; Lyman, WY; Phoenix, AZ; Unionville, MO; Layton & Salt Lake City, Utah; and Monroe, Iowa.

Pat worked and volunteered in many vocations throughout her life, including Little America during her high school career, volunteering for the Baby Lift and the American Red Cross in the Philippines during the Vietnam War, a tutor at Crestview Elementary in Layton, Utah, as an office manager for the Putnam County Prosecutor's Office, and as a systems analyst for private firms and Hill AFB, UT, where she retired in 2013.

Pat was a creative, loving individual who loved the arts, watching things grown, British films and TV, and her family.

To honor their mother, Pat's children plan to respect their mother's wishes by holding a private memorial service in Wyoming. A family service will be held at her daughter's home in Farmington, UT on March 13, 2015. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to PBS in Pat's honor.
