Donald Eugene Loupee, 85, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014, at Hester Care Center, Hutchinson. He was born Sept. 5, 1929, in Newton, to Elmer and Esther Elizabeth (Doak) Loupee. He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1951-1954 and later graduated from Iowa State University in Ames in 1958. Donald worked as a foreman carpenter, building many beautiful homes throughout central Iowa. He married Marilyn Jean Higdon on Sept. 5, 1954, in Newton.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn of Hutchinson, Kan.; daughter, Debra A.L. Waggoner and husband Paul of Hutchinson, Kan.; grandchildren, Andrew Waggoner and wife Michelle, Elizabeth Davis and husband James Davis, C. Zoe Schumm and husband Joshua; great-grandson, Adler Eugene Davis; brother, Burton Loupee and wife Gerry.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service and burial will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 10 at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. The family will greet friends from noon to 1 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Research Foundation, the Collegiate United Methodist Foundation, or the Newton High School Alumni Association or may be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa 7 Jan 2015.
