FREDERICK "TED" GIBSON DIED FRIDAY AFTERNOON
Gibson, Frederick

Frederick "Ted" Gibson, 63, died suddenly of a heart attack Friday afternoon at the home of his nephew, Wm. McKeever.

He was the son of Henry and Hannah Gibson and was born in Chestershire, England on November 17, 1885 and passed from this life on January 16, 1948, following a heart attack, at the home of his nephew, Wm. McKeever.

Ted, as he was called by an who knew him, came to America with his parents and older brother at the age of four years, residing with his parents near Colfax.

He began working in the coal mine when but a young lad, later becoming engaged in farm work, continuing at this vocation until the time of his death. He had been employed at the late Chas. and Stella Williams farm near Mitchellville. He took great pride and interest in his work always seeing that it was efficiently and thoroughly done.

He was a good brother and uncle and his honesty and willingness to lend a helping hand whenever needed will always be remembered.

The Past few Years, he has made his home with his sister, Mrs. Minnie McKeever, northwest of Colfax.

He is preceded in death by his parents in the year 1933, a brother George in 1937, and two brothers and two sisters in infancy.

He leaves to mourn his passing two sisters, Mrs. Minnie McKeever of Colfax, and Mrs. Anna Johnson of San Diego, California, eight nieces and ten nephews, several cousins in England and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Bumgardner Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Paul K. Potter officiating.

Music was furnished by Mrs. Earl Plummer and Jean Binkerd, pianist.

Pallbearers were Harry Gibson, George Gibson, Louis Gearhart, Frederick McKeever, Clifford Donaldson and Clifford Gearhart.
