Carroll William Moredock, 74, of Baxter, died Monday, Dec. 29, 2014, at Baxter Healthcare Center. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 2 at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service and again after the service with a lunch at the funeral home. Memorials to Care Initiatives Hospice may be left at the funeral home.

Carroll, the son of Walter and Frances (Hughes) Moredock, was born on Jan. 14, 1940, in Newton. He was the head chef cook at Cecil’s Restaurant in Marshalltown for 13 years, retiring in 2000. Carroll was a member of the First Baptist Church in Newton.

He is survived by his siblings, Walter D. Moredock, Ivan S. Moredock, Rita B. Phipps, Doris I. Witzenburg, Linda K. Koon, and Marcia A. Nichols; an aunt, Ruth Moredock; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa 30 Dec 2014.
