AS PER DENNIS' WISHES HE HAS BEEN CREMATED AND THERE WILL BE NO SERVICES.

Dennis, the son of Max and Susanne (Urfer) Phipps, was born June 24, 1952, in Iowa City, Iowa. He graduated from Newton High School in 1970. He worked as a window glazer for several years until he was injured in an accident. He then started working at The Pella Corporation. Denny was a member of the Izaak Walton League. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, hunting, mushroom hunting, and doing anything outdoors.

Those left to honor Denny’s memory include his sisters, Beverly Owens of Denver, CO, and Jan (Mike) De Penning of Newton; his daughter, Kristy (Aaron) Axtell of Newton; 2 granddaughters, Erika and Elise Axtell of Newton; her nephews, Travis (Jenny) Herduin and their children, Jacob and Hannah, and Mike Owens and his family; his nephew and godson, Joshuwa Kruse; and many friends.

Denny was preceded in death by his parents, and niece, Tamara Herduin.
