Those left to honor Marion's memory are her children, Robert (Kathy) Pohlman of Hartford, Victoria Burns of Mingo and Donald (JoAnn) Webster, Jr. of Mitchellville; seven grandchildren, Amanda (Scott) Hauschildt of Newton, Sara Burns of Newton, David (Kelly) Burns of Colfax, Kendra Young of Mingo, Kelsi Young of Mingo, Joshua Webster of Oregon and John Pohlman of Johnston; three great-grandchildren, Mason and Wilson Hauschildt and David Burns, Jr.; sister, Naomi Haskell of Torrance, California. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Donald in 2009; son, David Ward; sisters, Gertrude Hebble, Susie Kehnel, Lela Munyon, Helen Raplus and Clara McKowen; and brothers, Duane, Elbert and Corwin Venn.

Marion was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Des Moines in 1944. She also was a graduate of the Broadlawns School of Nursing in 1947.

Marion worked at the Skiff Medical Center in Newton for 35 years, retiring in 1988, where she was the Head nurse of the Critical Care Unit.

Marion was a member of the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, Jasper County E911 Board for 18 years, she was a Past President of the Federated Women’s Club, Mingo City Council for 16 years, Mingo Community Center Board, Mingo Development Corporation Board, Jasper County Registered Nurses Association, Skiff Retirees, Mingo Women’s Club, the election board, the Lunch Bunch and was Past President of Mingo Senior Citizens Marion loved being with her family. She also enjoyed being out at Ashton Park, painting and traveling.
