LYNN T. TOEDT Lynn T. Toedt, age 69, died Saturday, December 13, 2014, in Hampstead, NC after a three year battle with pancreatic cancer.

Lynn was born April 21, 1945 in Newton, Iowa to Leo and Irene Toedt.

Lynn is survived by his wife of 43 years, Janet Bass Toedt. He is also survived by a daughter Denise (Robert) Daughtry, a son Steven (Margaret) Bass, a daughter Macy (Kingsley) Pugh of Asheville, NC, and a son Eric and grand-daughter Erica in Arizona. He leaves behind his much loved grand-children Elijah Silas Daughtry and Sunshine Pugh. Also surviving are a sister, Margaret Einck of Denver, Iowa and a brother, Dale Toedt of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Lynn is also survived by six grand-dogs and Boo-Kitty.

Lynn graduated from Newton High School and attended Central College in Pella, Iowa. He moved to Wilmington, NC in 1967 to attend Cape Fear Community College to study Marine Biology, graduating with a degree in Applied Science. He worked for various electrical companies in Wilmington before being hired as an electrician by Federal Paper in 1979. He retired from International Paper in 2001 after 31 years of service. He worked briefly in retirement with Citicorp of Wilmington. Lynn loved living near the beach and spent many hours scuba diving and driving his boat or working on it. Lynn and Janet spent the last 10 years living in their "forever" home in Bent Tree II in Hampstead NC.

The friends and neighbors in Bent Tree were an important part in our journey over the past three years. They were always available, ready and willing to help us in any way possible. We will be eternally grateful to Martin and Sharon Skipper, dear friends for almost 40 years who have been by our side, and dear neighbors Tracey and Pam Sparshott.

Lynn was a faithful member of Hampstead United Methodist Church.

A visitation will be held at Andrews Mortuary Hampstead Chapel on Monday, December 15, 2014, from 6-8pm. A celebration of Lynn's life will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at 2pm, at Hampstead United Methodist Church. A private inurnment will be held at Oleander Memorial Gardens at a later date.
