Katherine Frances "Kat" Busbee (1970 - 2014)

Katherine "Kat" Frances Busbee, 44, went to be with her Lord and Savior Dec. 1, 2014, after a courageous fight against cancer. She was born Aug. 22, 1970, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Carl and Judy Bradley, their fourth child, first girl. Later, a sister was adopted but died young, leaving Kathy the only girl among nine brothers.
Kat, as she came to be known, was a loving, caring, and generous person. She worked as a nanny before moving to Niceville, Fla., in 1992. She worked at Nicometo's for several years, making many lifelong friends. She loved painting and started her own painting business, giving 150% to every home or business she painted. She was a hard worker and would tackle most any job. She worked for her brother Jared at Bradley Title Company until her illness took her strength.

On Oct. 19, 2002, Kat married her long-time sweetheart, Mack Busbee. Later, she took on the job title she loved most, that of "Mom". She loved her children and devoted herself to them and her husband.

Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Carl Bradley, brother Jamie, and sister Betsy, as well as her paternal grandparents. She is survived by her loving husband, Harley Mack Busbee III, and three children, daughter Rachel of NJ, son Harrison and daughter Harley, both at home; mother Judy Bradley of Niceville, 8 brothers, Jeff and Stacey of Des Moines, IA, Mike of Newton, IA, Greg of Sioux City, IA, John and Janice of Dayton, OH, Aaron of Niceville, FL Jared and Melissa of Niceville, FL, David of Orlando, FL, and Pete and Jenny of Grand Rapids, MI. She was the adored aunt of numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Monday, December 8, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located on the corner of 27th St. and Palm Blvd in Niceville, FL. Her final resting place will be in Heritage Gardens in Niceville.
