Maxine R. (Robertson) Phillips, 88, of Newton, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014, at the Newton Health Care Center in Newton.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Monday, Dec. 8 at the First Christian Church, 314 E. Second St. N. in Newton. The family will greet friends from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 7 at the church. Memorials to the First Christian Church may be left at the church at the time of the visitation and funeral service or at the Wallace Family Funeral Home. Memorials may also be mailed to the funeral home please add, Attn: Phillips Family on the envelope.

Survivors include her children, Deanna Schafer of Newton, Glenna (Dallas) Bunger of Jackson, Tenn., and Craig (Nancy) Phillips of Newton; seven grandchildren, Kevin (Jennifer) Schafer of Baxter, Jodi (Dusty) Albertson of Newton, Scott (Meghan) Mather of Des Moines, Justin (Randi) Mather of Newton, Tim Phillips of Des Moines, Kendra Harlow of Council Bluffs and Joe Phillips of Newton; and her 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter in 1996; and her brother, Morris Robertson.
