Cecile I. Kinion, age 89 of Monroe, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2014, at Knoxville Area Community Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at the Monroe United Methodist Church with burial following at Silent City Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Monday, October 20, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe. The family will greet friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Monroe Emergency Unit or Hospice of Central Iowa. Condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.

The daughter of James R. and MayBelle (Shaw) Marshall, Cecile was born on March 23, 1925, in Jasper County. On June 28, 1947, she was united in marriage to Leo L. Kinion in Monroe. She was a member of Tools Chapel Church. Cecile enjoyed fishing, loved going to antique auctions, crocheting, quilting and baking.

Those left to honor her memory include her children, Francis (Peggy) Kinion of Unionville, Missouri, Phil (Deb) Kinion of Monroe, Jerry (Karen) Kinion of Monroe, Carrol Kinion of Monroe, and Susan (Rick) Blom of Reasnor; eight grandchildren, Stephanie Kruse, Stacey Hines, Chad Kinion, Christina Machin, Jed Kinion, Jeff Kinion, Paige Blom and Morgan Blom; eight great grandchildren, Calvin, Kamdyn, Dustin, Tyler, Andrew, Alyssa, Kole, and Rowdy; and siblings, Rosamond Thompson of Ft. Bragg, California, Lucille Anderson of Newton, Maurice (Gwen) Marshall of Lexington, Kentucky and Violet Schrader of Monroe.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband and two brothers, Millard and Frank. ~ The Coburn Funeral Home, Colfax, Iowa Oct 2014.
