Howard Thomas “Tom” Morgan, 72, of Newton died on Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at the Iowa Veteran’s Home in Marshalltown. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 11, at Newton Union Cemetery. Memorials in Tom’s name may be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory or at the graveside service.

Tom, the son of George and Gieula (McCullough) Morgan, was born on October 6, 1942 in Garden Grove, Iowa. He graduated from Newton High School in Newton, Iowa in 1961. Tom then served his country in the U.S. Army from 1961-1965. After the service, he graduated from Drake University in 1969. Tom worked in sales for Federal Mogul.

Tom is survived by his son, Chris Morgan of Ft. Collins, Colorado; sister, Kathy Hackathorn of Newton; and his nephews, Ryan Hackathorn of Newton and Adam Hackathorn (Stephanie Robertson) of Newton.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Morgan in 1981; mother, Gieula Morgan in 2009; and a nephew, Michael Hackathorn in 2007. ~ The Wallace Family Funeral Home, Newton, Iowa 7 Oct 2014.
