Fanchon K. (Dahleen) Neubauer, 77, of Newton died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014, at the Skiff Medical Center in Newton. A memorial service will be 2 p.m., Friday, Aug. 15 at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 14 at the funeral home. Memorials to the Jasper County Animal Rescue League and Humane Society or to the American Heart Association may be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home. The memorials may also be mailed to the funeral home please add, Attn: Neubauer Family on the envelope.

Those left to honor Fanchon’s memory are her children, Alan (Linda) Neubauer of Newton, Dean (Kim) Neubauer of Horseheads, N.Y., Lashelle (Doug) Woods of Newton and Lynette Neubauer Baker of Newton; six grandchildren, Scott Neubauer of Newton, Jeff (Katie) Neubauer of Altoona, Jason Neubauer of New York, Bryan (Jen) Neubauer of New York, Laura Neubauer of New York and Greg Woods of Newton; her two great-granddaughters, Gillian Neubauer and Tyler Scully; brother, Larry (Marcia) Dahleen of Kiester, Minn.; sister, Cheryl (Alan) Shillerberg of Grantsburg, Wis.; sister-in-law, Darlyne Dahleen of Denison; and her many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Virgil in 2004; great-grandson Cody Neubauer in infancy; brother Edward Dahleen; sister Elaine Reimers; sister-in-law Louise Dahleen; and a niece Linda Walde. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa 6 Aug 2014.

Fanchon worked for the Newton Daily News. She had also worked and retired from the Maytag Office Resource Department.

Fanchon was a member of the Our Savior Lutheran Church in Newton and of the Elks Lodge in Newton.

Fanchon loved spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed fishing, reading, movies and flower gardening but she had especially loved going dancing with her husband, Virgil.
