2:00pm to 4:00pmTamara “Tammi” Dee Herduin, 49, of Newton died on Sunday, June 1, 2014, at her home. A celebration of life for Tammi will be held from 2-4 P.M., Saturday, June 7, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Tammi’s name may be left at the funeral home. Tamara, the daughter of Robert and Janice (Phipps) Herduin, was born on January 17, 1965 in Newton. She grew up in Newton and Colorado, graduating from Newton High School in 1983. After high school she returned to Colorado and graduated from Travel Agency School. After her son, Joshuwa, was born, Tammi moved back to Newton to be closer to her family. She worked as a field representative for Newton Manufacturing for many years and later as an administrative assistant for the New York Life Insurance office in Newton. Tammi loved spending time with her family and helping people. She enjoyed being on her computer and was an animal lover.
Those left to honor Tammi’s memory are her son, Josh Kruse of Aurora, Colorado; mother, Jan (Mike) DePenning of Newton; dad, Bob (Melissa) Herduin of Springhill, Kansas; her brother, Travis (Jenny) Herduin of Newton; nephew, Jacob Herduin; niece, Hanna Herduin; and a special friend, Jay Dee Mack.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Adolph and Georgia Herduin and maternal grandparents, Max D. Phipps, Suzanne Phipps Johnson, and Forest Johnson. ~ The Wallace Family Funeral Home, Newton, Iowa.
