Randall Keith Hamilton, 46, of 505 1st St. S., Apt. 11, died this morning, Jan 17, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Des Moines of complications of a brain aneurysm.

Randall K. Hamilton

Funeral services for Randall Keith Hamilton, 46, 505 1st St. S., Apt 11, a longtime resident of Newton, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.

The Rev. Todd Schlitter, associate pastor of the First United Methodist Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the veterans section of Newton Union Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 11 a.m. Today. Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Today at the funeral home.

Mr. Hamilton died Thursday at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Des Moines of complications of a brain aneurysm.

Memorials in his name may be left at the funeral home.

Survivors are his wife, Patty; a son, Brian of Newton; two daughters, Brenda Hamilton of Des Moines and Randi Hamilton of Newton; his mother and step-father, Laura and William De Greef of Newton; his step-grandmother, Henderieka De Greef of Newton; and a grandson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Randall William, Dec 7, 1988 and a grandson.

Mr. Hamilton had been a former police officer and an employee of Axtell Ford and most recently was a jailer at the Newton jail.

A veteran of the army during the Vietnam period, he was a member of the Newton Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 1655.

The son of Randall William and Laura Hoadley Hamilton, he was born April 17, 1944 in Bethany, Mo., attended elementary school in Missouri and entered the army immediately after graduation from Newton Community High School.

He was married to Patricia Ann Braaksma Feb. 13, 1982 in Newton. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Fri 18 Jan 1991.
