Marjorie Shuey, 86, died Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at Kavanagh house on 56th Street in Des Moines. A memorial visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12 at McLaren’s Chapel in West Des Moines with a private burial at Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City.
Marjorie was lifelong resident of Prairie City and always enjoyed going uptown for coffee with her friends. For 27 years she worked two jobs, Thermogas in Prairie City and as a receptionist at Des Moines General Hospital in Des Moines. Marjorie is survived by her son, Mike (Kim) Shuey of West Des Moines; one granddaughter; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband John; and grandson, Nate Shuey.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Marjorie’s family.
