Edward E. Adkisson, 75, of 1800 S. 4th Ave. E., died Friday, Feb. 18, at Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown.

There will be no visitation or services. The Pursel-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory will conduct his cremation.

The son of James F. and Iris Davis Adkisson, he was born Jan. 15, 1925, in Faulkner County, Ark. He was raised and educated in Mt. Vernon, Ark. and served in the United States Army from 1943 to 1946.

He married Lucille Stephans in 1948 in Conway, Ark. before moving to Newton in 1951.

Mr. Adkisson worked as an automobile mechanic for more than 30 years. He was employed by Sanders Motors in Newton and later was self-employed before retiring in 1988.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Roxanne (Mrs. Tim) Snook of Newton; a son, Barry of Newton; and a brother, Elwin of Little Rock, Ark.
