Those left to honor Frank’s memory are his daughter, Shirley Van Genderen of Newton; his son, Tom (Diana) Illingworth of Newton; five grandchildren, Heather Surber of Des Moines, Amy Revell of Newton, Michael Illingworth of Newton, Matthew Illingworth of Newton and Laura Illingworth of Raleigh, North Carolina; nine great-grandchildren, his sister, Dorothy Clement of Newton and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Betty; two sons, Dennis and Douglas; granddaughter, Bridget; and a great-grandson.

Frank served his country in the U. S. Army during WW II.

Frank was a self-employed truck driver and mechanic.

He enjoyed working on trucks and cars.
