Cecil F. Davis, Former Newton Resident, Dies

Cecil Fairman Davis, 44, of Chatsworth, Calif., a former resident of Newton, died recently at a Los Angeles, Calif., hospital.

Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home in Newton.

The Rev. Marvin Potter, pastor of the United Presbyterian Church in Newton, will conduct services.

Private burial services will be held at the Newton Union Cemetery.

Survivors are two sons, Rodney Davis, stationed in the Philippine Islands, and Cecil Davis Jr. of Grinnell; a brother, LeRoy Davis of Newton; and three sisters, Mrs. Robert (Darlene) Sexton of Winona, Minn., Mrs. Robert (Margaret) Pabst of Kansas and Mrs. Lois Pelligreno of Atlanta, Ga.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The son of Home Lawrence and Rosetta Frances Height Davis, he was born Sept. 11, 1933 in Kansas and attended Newton schools. ~ The Newton (Iowa) Daily News, Thursday, January 26, 1978
