Luella Wing, 71, Dies Wednesday; Rites Saturday

Mrs. Forrest (Luella) Wing, 71, of 531 S. 6th Ave. E., a longtime resident of Newton, died Wednesday evening at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Foursquare Church.

The Rev. Ellis Ryherd, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Newton Union Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home after 3 p.m. Friday.

Survivors are a son, the Rev. David Wing of Schuylkill Haven, Pa.; two grandchildren, Andrew David and Amber Lynn; a brother, Royal Carson of Waterloo; a sister, Mrs. Wayne (Berniece) Davis of Bella Vista, Ark.; and a nephew, Robert Davis of St. Louis, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Carson; her mother, Blanche Carson Breece; and her husband.

Mrs. Wing was a member of the Foursquare Church.

The daughter of Robert Earl and Blanche Carson, she was born Mar. 4, 1906 in Louisa County. ~ The Newton (Iowa) Daily News, Thursday, January 26, 1978
