Audrey Lucille Benge

Audrey Lucille Benge, age 69 of Prairie City, died Thursday, July 11, 2013, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. A memorial service was held Aug. 10 at the Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City. memorials may be directed to the Audrey L. Benge Memorial Fund.

The Daughter of Henry Allen and Nina Grace (Moore) Thomas, Audrey was born on April 29, 1944, in Keosauqua. On Oct. 6, 2008, she was united in marriage to Ronald Benge in Indianola. Audrey worked in food service and was a CNA. She was also a member of the Prairie City Church of the Brethren. her greatest passion was her grandchildren.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband Ronald; her children, Deana (Mark) Brumm, Larry Lee Thomas, and Dawn (Virgil) Courtney; 22 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; thee sisters, Shirley Sprauge, Dixie Riley, and Janet Northway; and two brothers, Hank Thomas and Bob Thomas.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a son, Glenn Allen Thomas; and grandson, Corey Courtney. ~ Newspaper unnamed, possibly The Des Moines Register or Newton (IA) Daily News.
