PASSES AWAY

Lynnville, June 14, Special:

Ellen E. Squires was born in the state of Virginia, June 3, 1846, and departed this life June 10, 1932. Her home since childhood was Lynnville except a few years spent in Poweshiek county, Creston and Council Bluffs. She was married to Benson Starr Dec. 28, 1865. To this union were born five children: Perry T. and Norma, having preceded her in death; those living are Dora Peters of Billings, Mont., Lee and Frank, both of Lynnville. She leaves besides her children two sisters, Olive Horton of Ipswich, N.D., and Tilda Turner of Elmwood, Neb.; two brothers, Charles and Benny, both of Lancaster, Mo.; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren and a host of friends for she was a friend to every one. Her children and her sister Olive Horton were with her during her last days. Funeral services were held in the Friends church Sunday afternoon in charge of Rev. Willard Reynolds. Music was furnished by a mixed quartet composed of Charles Potter, Mrs. Leo Davis, Mrs. Harvey Gause and Harlan Meredith, with Mary Gause at the piano. Burial was in the Swans cemetery.
