Dorothy Eichhorn Greenwalt, 91, passed away peacefully November 24, 2013, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and no services are planned.

Dorothy was born in Newton, Iowa, on December 6, 1921, to Henry and Stella DeBondt. She graduated from Grinnell high School in 1939. She lived most of her adult life in Altoona.

From July, 2008 until February, 2013, Dorothy resided at The Shores in Pleasant Hill. In March of 2013, she became a resident of Parkridge Specialty Care in Pleasant Hill.

Left to cherish Dorothy's memory are her daughter, Carole "CJ" Reeves-Kelly of Altoona; son, David (Connie) Eichhorn of Pleasant Hill; grandchildren, Mike (Amy) Reeves and their children, Jake, Justin and Sophie of Sarasota, FL; Chad (Mary) Eichhorn and their son, Dalton of Des Moines; and Chris Eichhorn and his children, Ethan and Ava of Council Bluffs; her sister, Jeanne (Herb) DePrenger of West Des Moines; and a host of several extended loving family members and friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Jack Eichhorn; second husband, Rod Greenwalt; brother, Con DeBondt of Malcom; and a sister, Lenore Gustafson of Grinnell.

Dorothy's family would like to thank the staff at The Shores and Parkridge Specialty Care for the loving care they provided Dorothy.
